This interactive workshop will focus on reimagining Winsted’s Main Street corridor through a potential roadway reconfiguration. Committee members will review conceptual alternatives and discuss the needs and wants of a redesigned Main Street, including angled parking, expanded sidewalks, bicycle accommodations, pedestrian safety, traffic flow, and intersection improvements. The goal is to work toward a preferred conceptual layout that balances safety, accessibility, and the needs of downtown businesses, residents, and visitors.
The Committee will also review public survey findings and other priority safety concerns identified by our consultant, Tighe & Bond, to help establish priorities for future improvements. The discussion and resulting recommendations will be incorporated into the Town’s federally funded SS4A Action Plan, establishing a documented vision for Main Street’s transformation and supporting future design and federal funding opportunities.
