WINTER STORM PARKING BAN NOTICE
Sunday 4pm - Monday 8am
Winchester/Winsted, Connecticut
Due to the anticipated winter storm, a mandatory parking ban will be in effect throughout Winchester and Winsted from 4:00 PM on Sunday until 8:00 AM Monday.
During this time, all vehicles must be removed from public streets and municipal parking areas to allow our Public Works crews to effectively clear snow and ensure safe travel conditions for all residents. Vehicles left on streets during the ban may be towed at the owner's expense.
Please note that any vehicles interfering with snow removal operations will be subject to fines and towing fees. This parking ban is crucial for our crews to maintain safe roadways and ensure emergency vehicle access throughout our community.
For residents in multi-family homes or those without off-street parking, please make arrangements in advance to park in designated municipal lots or coordinate with neighbors who may have extra driveway space.
Alternative Parking Options:
Bachelor School
Pearson School (Vehicle must be removed once ban is lifted)
Old Bank of American Building near town hall
Our Public Works Department will be working diligently throughout the storm to keep our roads clear and safe. We kindly ask for your cooperation in following this parking ban to help our crews perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
Remember:
- Move vehicles off streets before 4:00 PM Sunday
- Keep your distance from snow plows while driving
- Allow extra time for travel
- Check on elderly neighbors and those who might need assistance
Your cooperation helps ensure everyone's safety during winter weather events. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in keeping our streets clear and our community safe.
Stay warm and safe while our crews work to maintain our roadways
