Winchester Public Schools is piloting a Summer Learning Passport program this year.  The school district has partnered with Winsted local businesses as part of a “Learning Passports” program.  As children and their families visit local merchants and restaurants, students are encouraged to complete a learning activity and gather stamps for their "Learning Passports."   Students that complete their entire Learning Passport will receive a new backpack filled with school supplies!

Paper copies of the Summer Learning Passport are available all summer at the Board of Education's Central Office located at Town Hall at 338 Main Street.  Please click here for a copy of the passport.

NOTE:  Every activity can be done without spending money.  Please do support our local businesses here in town!

The Beardsley and Memorial Library is also a great source for continued summer learning and has scheduled a Summer Reading Kick-off with Riverside Reptiles on Saturday, June 29th from 11AM to 12:30PM.  Please click here to see other offerings from the Beardsley and Memorial Library.

Each year, our local students are encouraged to keep reading throughout the summer and join in Connecticut Reads, the 2019 Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge!   Please see the reading list below for suggested summer reading.

Grade 3 through Grade 4
