Water Service Interruption at Florence Street and East Mountain Avenue

BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED - As of May 7, 2021 at 6:30AM, the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

UPDATE AS OF 05/05/21 AT 9AM:  Reminder to Nanni Drive residents affected by May 3rd Water Main Break that Boil Water Advisory is still in effect. It can take up to three (3) business days to get the results back. Please continue to monitor the Town's website and this Facebook page for additional updates in this regard. Please recall that the Boil Water Advisory is ONLY for eating/drinking water.

UPDATE AS OF 05/04/21 AT 1AM:  Water is flowing. Please follow Boil Water Advisory until Winsted Water Works has received results of water tests.

UPDATE AS OF 05/03/21 AT 1:30PM:  Water service to Baker Street, Florence Street, East Mountain Avenue, Stanton Avenue, Gilbert Avenue, and Woodruff Avenue should resume shortly.  Users who were affected may have noted a loss in pressure.  For those who have observed a loss in water pressure, it is advisable to boil tap water for at least one minute prior to drinking, cooking or consuming until further notice.  Tests will be conducted after repairs are completed and, based on the results, the boil water order will be lifted.  Others may note only discoloration in water.  This condition should be only temporary.  If the discoloration persists, please feel free to contact the Town of Winchester Water Department at (860) 379-4101. 

Apartments on Nanni Drive remain without water.  We do not have an estimate for when service will resume there.

UPDATE AS OF 05/03/21 AT 12:35PM: Water main break on Nanni Drive. The whole neighborhood is down with NO WATER. Florence St, Wallens St, E Mountain Ave, Stanton Ave, etc. No restoration time is available currently. Estimates are that it will take at least several hours.

The Town of Winchester Department of Public Works is advising that there is a water service interruption in the area of Florence Street and East Mountain Avenue.  Crews have been dispatched and are currently assessing the problem.  More information will be shared as details become available...
