Update Provided: The results from the July 26th water test are received and the Town has been advised that the "BOIL WATER" order can be lifted.
Winsted Water Works has announced that a water main broke near 120 Colebrook River Road around midnight on July 25, 2019. The leak has been contained to the immediate area of the break. Crews are on site now completing the repairs. Users who were affected may have noted a loss in pressure. For those who have observed a loss in water pressure, it is advisable to boil tap water for at least one minute prior to drinking, cooking or consuming until further notice. Tests will be conducted after repairs are completed and, based on the results, the boil water order will be lifted. Affected customers will be notified.
Others may note only discoloration in water. This condition should be only temporary. If the discoloration persists, please feel free to contact the Town of Winchester Water Department at (860) 379-4101.
