UPDATE AS OF 5PM: Winsted Water Works reports completion of the repairs to the water main on North Main Street. Customers who have suffered an earlier interruption should now have service. For instances of discolored water, please allow the cold water to run for several minutes and the discoloration should dissipate.
UPDATE AS OF 10:15AM: Water service interruption is expected to last until at least 2PM. Winsted Water Works expects restoration to be completed between 2PM and 6PM.
The Department of Public Works has announced a water main break has occurred this morning on North Main Street near the town's wastewater treatment plant. Water customers in the area of the intersection of Smith Hill Road, Colebrook River Road, North Main Street and Riverton Road are expected to be impacted. There will be no water in this area for next several hours.
