Emergency Management Director Steven Williams reports that the National Weather Service is reporting that rain from Tropical Storm Elsa will gradually taper off across the region by early afternoon. A frontal boundary will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the region this afternoon and evening. Dryer weather will return for the weekend. The region has received between one and two inches of rainfall from Tropical Storm Elsa.
Eversource is reporting no power outages in Winchester at this time.
Department of Public Works is reporting no issues with flooding on local roads. There are no road closures at this time.
Winchester Police Department is reporting no issues related to the storm at this time.
The Winsted and Winchester Fire Departments are reporting no issues related to the storm at this time.
The Emergency Operations Center in Town hall opened at 6:00 AM this morning and is being staffed by the Emergency Management Director and members of Winchester Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). They have been monitoring the situation and are reporting no issues related to the storm.
Based on the storm departing our region at this time, the Emergency Operations Center will close down at 1:00PM this afternoon.
