Halloween celebrations in Winsted begin with a Halloween Window Painting Contest on Saturday, October 28, 2017. The contest is open to all Winchester/Winsted students in the K-6 age group, including those attending schools out of town or are home-schooled. Teams of kids will be out and about painting their assigned windows during the day, beginning at 9:00AM.
Festivities continue with Trick-or-Treat on Main Street with participating downtown merchants between 1:00PM and 4:00PM, with some businesses having shorter Saturday hours. Please look for the orange Jack-O-Lantern flyers on their doors!
During Trick-or-Treat on Main Street, the Time Capsule Art & Essay Contest entries and winners will be on public display at 406 Main Street. Please note that this is the last opportunity to see Winsted in 2067 through the eyes of today’s students, and the chance for students (or parents) to pick up their entries.
The Halloween fun continues on Saturday, October 28th with Winsted Recreation Department’s
Trunk or Treat event in the Gaylord-Tiffany Playground parking lot on Rowley Street from 4:30PM to 6:00pm. Advance registration is required for anyone wanting to decorate their vehicle and offer treats for the kids.
