The Town of Winchester will celebrate the 250th anniversary of its incorporation in 2021. Since early this year, citizens from many Town boards and civic organizations have been meeting as the Winchester250 Committee to begin planning 2021 celebrations. In order to effectively promote the 250th anniversary, the Committee is pleased to launch the Winchester 250th Anniversary Logo Competition!
Who Can Enter:
This competition is open to all students who live in the Town of Winchester or who study in the Town of Winchester, including those who attend the Winchester Public Schools, the Gilbert School, Northwest Regional 7, Explorations Charter School, St. Anthony’s School, Northwestern Connecticut Community College, or are home schooled. Submissions may be from individual students or from a collaboration of students. Individuals or groups may submit multiple designs.
What We Need:
We are looking for a logo design for the 250th Anniversary that can be used online and in print by all participating groups organizing and promoting anniversary activities. The design should express both honoring our past and building our future. Ideally, the logo should be adaptable for both circular/oval and horizontal formats. This logo will be used as soon as the finalist design is chosen and will serve as a common brand for all Winchester250 organizing, through to the events in 2021.
How to Submit Designs:
Artwork should be submitted digitally as high-resolution files at https://winchester250logodesigncompetition.artcall.org. A printed application form with alternate submission options is available by request via email to Winchester250@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is 11:59PM on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
The Selection Process:
All entries will be reviewed by a jury of marketing professionals and the five (5) top contenders will be presented to the Winchester250 Committee for final selection.
Prize To Be Awarded:
In addition to acknowledgement through the press, the Town website, and social media, and the project being a valuable addition to the winning designer’s portfolio, a cash prize of $250 is offered.
