The Town Clerk's Office is reminding Winchester residents that June is Dog License Renewal Month. All dogs in Winchester over the age of six months must be licensed by the Town Clerk annually on or before June 30th.
The license is valid from July 1 through June 30, 2022. All licensed dogs must wear the tag on a collar around their neck. New dogs, 6 months old or older, must be licensed within 30 days of obtaining them.
The fee for the license is $8 for a dog that is neutered or spayed. The fee for a dog which is not neutered or spayed is $19. A current rabies certificate is required for all dogs and a neutered/spayed certificate is required for dogs that will be licensed for the first time or if recently neutered or spayed.
Dog licenses may be obtained in person at the Town Clerk’s office Monday through Wednesday from 8AM to 4PM, Thursday 8AM to 6PM, and Friday 8AM to 12PM or by mail. When renewing by mail please include:
- Check or money order for the proper fee, made payable to the Town of Winchester Town Clerk,
- All certificates (rabies, neutered/spayed), and
- Self-addressed, stamped envelope.
