The Town of Winchester Department of Public Works is advising residents of road improvements underway on Torringford Street. The Connecticut Department of Transportation is in the process of milling the top two (2”) inches of pavement off of Torringford Street (Route 183) from South Main Street (Route 44) in Winsted extending all the way to New Harwinton Road (Route 4) in Torrington.
The milling portion of the project is expected to be completed by Tuesday, August 18th. Repaving of the road is scheduled to begin Monday, August 31st with a targeted completion date of Friday, September 18th.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
