The Town of Winchester Department of Public Works is advising residents of road improvements underway on Route 20 from its intersection with North Main Street. The Connecticut Department of Transportation is in the process of milling the top two (2”) inches of pavement off of Route 20 at the intersection with Route 8 and extending to Hartland.
The milling portion of the project is expected to begin on Thursday, June 10th and be completed by Monday, June 14th. Repaving of the road is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 17th with a targeted completion date of Monday, June 28th. Road work is expected between the hours of 7AM and 4PM.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
