A Special Town Meeting was held on Tuesday, May 24th where information was available on the proposed Town Infrastructure Investment Plan. The plan now heads to this weekend's referendum. Polls will be open from 8AM to 8PM on Saturday, May 28th, 2022, at Pearson School located at 2 Wetmore Ave, Winsted. Two questions are included on the ballot:
"SHALL THE TOWN OF WINCHESTER ADOPT THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 2022 AS PRESENTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN IN THE AMOUNT OF $36,053,374?"; and
"SHALL THE TOWN OF WINCHESTER APPROPRIATE $24,700,000 FOR COSTS RELATED TO CAPITAL PROJECTS CONSISTING OF REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO ROADWAYS, REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO SIDEWALKS, REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HIGHLAND LAKE DRAINAGE SYSTEM, AND THE ACQUISITION OF A FIRE VEHICLE; AND AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF BONDS AND NOTES TO FINANCE THE APPROPRIATION?"

Absentee ballots are currently available in the Town Clerk's office. Please click here for a copy of the Application for Absentee Ballot. Please be advised that all absentee ballots are due to be submitted to the Town Clerk's Office which may be done so during regular business hours, today, Thursday, May 26th up until 6PM or Friday, May 27th between 8AM and 12PM, or alternatively, ballots can be submitted utilizing the white Ballot Drop Box outside of Town Hall. Please note that absentee ballots submitted via the white Ballot Drop Box outside of Town Hall must be received by 7:30PM on Saturday, May 28th.
