May 11, 2026, WINCHESTER, CT – The Town of Winchester held its Annual Town Budget Meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026, at The Gilbert School, located at 200 Williams Avenue, Winsted, CT 06098, to consider the Board of Selectmen’s proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget.
The proposed FY 2027 budget, which includes a proposed mill rate of 30.00, is available for public review along with the PowerPoint slideshow presented at the Annual Town Budget Meeting. A full livestream recording of the Annual Town Budget Meeting is available on TGSTV here:

Voters in attendance approved a motion to set the budget referendum for Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 8am to 8pm at Pearson School, located at 2 Wetmore Avenue, Winsted, CT 06098.
Absentee ballots will be available beginning Friday, May 15, 2026, at 8am in the Town Clerk’s Office. Eligible voters may obtain absentee ballots in person from the Town Clerk’s Office during normal Town Hall business hours leading up to the referendum. Mail-in ballots are not available for the referendum.
