Eversource will continue their tree cutting efforts in Winchester this year. Throughout 2021 and into 2022, the energy company invested millions of dollars in tree trimming and hazardous tree removal to upgrade reliability for customers. Trees are the leading cause of power outages in New England—especially during stormy weather. Every year, tree limbs and branches come in contact with the thousands of miles of electric power lines Eversource maintains—causing outages.
