The Conservation Commission and Friends of Main Street are partnering to sponsor a Fall River Cleanup on Saturday, September, 24th. Volunteers will gather at the Winsted Green (East End Park) at 9:30AM and plan to work for about 2 hours. Volunteers will regroup at 11:30AM for a slice of pizza and water.
One intrepid group will focus on cleaning the Still River - bring your waders! Other groups will walk along the Mad River or other parts of Main Street and vicinity to pick up trash and beautify our town.
Winsted’s Clean-up is inspired by the Connecticut River Conservancy which sponsors an annual clean-up along the Connecticut River and its tributaries. Volunteers in four states (NH, VT, MA, CT) will be working to beautify our environment and improve water quality on the same weekend.
**Please note the planned raindate of Sunday, September 25th.**
