The Winchester Police proudly announces the hiring of Brandon Simmons as the newest member of the Winchester Police Department. Officer Simmons will be attending the POST Academy 357th Session on Friday, April 7, 2017 and is expected to graduate in September, 2017.
Officer Simmons is 21 years old and lives in Woodbury where he attended Region 14 schools, having graduated in 2014. During all four years of high school, he was involved with the Technology Department and was elected as a member of the National Honor Society. At age 15, he joined the Connecticut State Police Litchfield Cadet Program and rose to the leadership role of Captain. Officer Simmons has volunteered hundreds of hours of his time assisting with an array of community functions. Since 2011, he has worked for the marine patrol unit in the Town of Washington on Lake Waramaug. After completing high school, he attended Naugatuck Valley Community College where he continues to pursue his degree in Criminal Justice. While attending college, Officer Simmons worked as a Network Coordinator for the Watertown Public School system.
Officer Simmons enjoys running and fitness training in his spare time.
