The Board of Selectmen is sponsoring eight (8) one-hour get-togethers over the next four months with the goal of encouraging volunteerism within the community. These informal get-togethers will focus on inspiring residents to consider volunteering for the Town of Winchester's boards and commissions and to participate in leadership needs of various town-focused non-profit organizations.
During each session, information about the various Town boards and commissions will be presented by Selectmen and other volunteers. Refreshments will be available at each gathering.
Please note that people attending are under no obligation to become volunteers.
These get-togethers will serve as an opportunity to learn more about how volunteering is the life-blood of a town and the positive effect giving-back-to-your-community has on a person’s physical and mental health.
The following is a schedule for these one-hour get-togethers over the next four months:

- Saturday, March 31st – 10:30AM Location: Beardsley & Memorial Library, 40 Munro Place
- Tuesday, April 3rd – 3:00PM Location: Pearson Middle School, Band Room, 2 Wetmore Avenue
- Sunday, April 22nd -- 6:00PM Location: Winchester Center Firehouse, Newfield Road, Winchester
- Wednesday, May 9th --9:00AM Location: Town of Winchester Playground - Recreation (Green) Building, Rowley Street
- Friday, May 25th – 4:00PM Location: Winchester Center Congregational Church, 1 West Street, Winchester
- Thursday, June 7th – Noon Location: Winsted Community Bookstore, 414 Main Street, Winsted
- Saturday, June 23rd – 8:00AM Location: Town of Winchester Playground - Recreation (Green) Building, Rowley Street
