May 4, 2026, WINCHESTER, CT – The Board of Selectmen held its Regular Meeting at 7pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, in the Hicks Room at Winchester Town Hall.
During the meeting, the Board of Selectmen incorporated the fiscal impacts of the recently adopted Connecticut Legislature bill, SB-01,
“An Act Concerning Affordability.” This legislation increases the Winchester’s FY 2027 Supplemental Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Grant by $136,056. The Board voted to increase the Pequot-Mohegan revenue estimate by this amount. This action reduced the proposed mill rate from 30.13 to 30.00.
The previously noticed proposed budget appropriation of $42,290,600, along with an appropriation of $1,296,000 from the Town’s fund balance to support one-time Capital Improvement Plan projects, remains unchanged. A recording of the SB-01-related portion of the meeting is available here:
