Come and find out how your skills, interests, and energy can be shared as a volunteer in town! The next Board of Selectmen Informational Sessions for Volunteers will be this Friday, May 25, 2018 at 4:00PM in the Winchester Center Congregational Church.
The hour-long discussion is open to anyone interested in hearing more about the opportunities to volunteer on boards and commissions and aimed at helping residents better understand the role each board and commission have within town. Other volunteer options available within our community with non-profit organizations will also be discussed.
Please note that people attending are under no obligation to become volunteers.
Two other sessions will remain after Friday’s program. They are: Thursday, June 7th at Noon in the Winsted Community Bookstore on Main Street, and Saturday, June 23rd at 8 am in the Recreation Building, Rowley Street.
"Volunteering is good for your health, helps develop a sense of purpose, and because democracy is not a spectator sport helps your town’s government run efficiently."
