The 84th Annual Laurel Festival begins Friday, June 8, 2018 with the Laurel Festival Ball in East End Park from 6:00PM to 11:00PM.
Events on Saturday, June 9th, include Family Fun Day beginning at 10:00AM. The Recreation Department is hosting games, activities and a bounce house. Morsel Munk will be providing adventurous and fun activities while Dance and Beyond will be leading a mini Zumba class at 1:00PM. Additionally, the Fire Department will sponsor kid-friendly activities along with an appearance by Smokey the Bear. Vendors from the Winsted’s Farmer Market will also be sharing their products. Have your tarot cards read and see what the future has in store for you or dress up in a vintage costume and have your picture taken!
Enjoy free ice cream, scooped by our own Winsted's 2018 Laurel Contestants...Great opportunity to meet these terrific kids!!
Also on Saturday, Winsted Trails will offer their popular City Walk Tour in addition to a Scavenger Hunt.
Additionally, Darcy Abbot from WAPJ 89.9 FM will host an Open Mic, beginning at 1:00PM and lasting until 3:00PM...(Sign-ups begin at 12:30PM).
On Sunday June 10th, join our vibrant community with Winsted’s Laurel Parade beginning at 2:00PM. This parade promises to be a showstopper! Enjoy marching bands from Pearson School, The Gilbert High School, Waterbury Fife and Drum, and the Hurricanes. Come and see our Senior Center’s Laurel King and Queen! This year's parade will include amazing floats as well as all of our wonderful contestants, sponsored by local businesses and town organizations. Parade festivities culminate in East End Park for the 2018 crowning!
