Animal Control

The job of animal control officer is governed by Connecticut Animal Control laws. It is to prevent cruelty to dogs and other animals as well as to enforce the laws described therein. The laws are there for the benefit of the animals as well as the people. The Connecticut Department of Agriculture oversees state and local regulations.

Some of the job duties are:

  • Investigating cruelty cases
  • Nuisance and roaming dogs
  • Licensing violations
  • Rabies related incidents and
  • All animal activity
