Police Department Fingerprinting for Employment and Pistol Permit Resuming Thursday, June 18th

The Town of Winchester Police Department will be resuming fingerprinting for employment and pistol permits on Thursday, June 18, 2020.  They will be adjusting operations and following new protocols in an effort to protect our officers and the general public. Persons requesting to be fingerprinted must have a pre-arranged appointment to be serviced.  Please note that the fingerprinting services by the Winchester Police Department is limited to residents of Winsted/Winchester only.

Fingerprinting appointments will be scheduled for Thursdays only.

Please call Kathy Venezia at the Winchester Police Department Records Management Office at (860) 379-2724 to schedule an appointment date and time.   Email for Ms. Venezia is kvenezia@townofwinchester.org.  Please be advised that applicants will be required to wear a face covering.  Applicants should also be prepared to have their temperatures taken prior to any fingerprinting.

Please note the following planned procedures as fingerprinting resumes:

  1. On scheduled date and time of appointment and upon arrival, applicant should call the station at (860) 379-2723.
  2. Applicant requesting fingerprinting should proceed to the sally port.  (Sally port is located on right side of Town Hall, near driveway adjacent to Post Office.)
  3. Applicant requesting fingerprinting must wear face mask.  If an applicant appears without a face covering, a mask will be provided.
  4. Prior to entering sally port, officers will take temperature reading of applicant.
  5. Upon normal temperature of applicant, the officer will escort applicant into the designated fingerprinting area.
  6. Upon completion of fingerprinting, the officer will escort resident from the station via sally port.
