Fireman's Parade Route

🚒🚨WINSTED FIREMEN'S PARADE AND CARNIVAL 🚒🚨
On Saturday, 08/26/2023, the Winsted Fire Department will be hosting their 159th annual Winsted Firemen's Parade and Carnival. Fire companies and apparatuses from Litchfield County and the rest of the state will be participating in this event. Roads will begin to be shut down along the parade route starting at approximately 5:30 PM. The parade forms and kicks off at 6:00 PM on Meadow Street, and going east toward Lake Street. They will turn north on Lake Street and then east on Main Street (Route 44). The parade route continues across Main Street and then turns south on Rowley Street. The parade continues and will end at the carnival grounds at the sports fields on Rowley Street. The parade is anticipated to last 30 minutes. A final award ceremony will be at the carnival grounds at the conclusion of the parade.
All roads along the route are going to be closed. Also be mindful of the construction on Case Avenue at the intersection of Route 44, vehicles and pedestrians cannot travel upon the road in this area. Expect delays and the need to find alternate routes during this time. Hinsdale Avenue and Wetmore Avenue, as well as Willow Street and Prospect Street will be advisable alternate routes to get around the closed section of Route 44. 
The carnival will be in operation on 08/23/2023 and 08/24/2023 from 6:00 PM to about 10:00 PM. As well as, 08/25/2023 and 08/26/2023 from 6:00 PM to about 11:00 PM. Fireworks are scheduled to be at sundown (approximately 9:30 PM) on 08/25/2023. Come and enjoy rides, food, and fun responsibly.
