Anthony Horton sworn in as Newest Winchester Policeman

The Winchester Police Department hosted a ceremony to swear in their newest officer, Anthony Horton, on June 28, 2018.  Town Clerk Sheila Sedlack administered the oath of office after remarks shared by selectmen and other town digitaries welcoming Officer Horton to town. 

Officer Horton is 24 years old and is originally from Albany, New York.  A 2015 graduate of State Univerisity of New York at Potsdam, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.  Officer Horton comes to Winsted after having completed five different summer internships over a five week span.  He also worked with the Colorado Springs Sheriff Department, the Wyoming Park Police, the National Guard in Wyoming, and the Bernalillo New Mexico's District Attorney's office.  

Officer Horton is assigned to the training division for field training and upon completion he will be assigned to the patrol division.
